The vibrant red colour of this Indo Chinese recipe makes it more appealing and makes it as the most favourite restaurant dish next to chilli chicken.It can be prepared as dry or mild gravy depends on your taste.I had a chance to taste this dish from two different restaurants and it tastes good.So browsed for this recipe and found its very simple and can be made within no time.The name dragon is from the bright red colour of this dish.So let's start the preparation.
Ingredients needed
For marination
- Ginger-Garlic paste- 1 tbsp
- Turmeric powder -1/4 Tsp
- Egg white- of 1 egg
- Corn starch- ¼ cup
- Boneless chicken pieces (Use breast piece and cut lengthwise) – 1 cup
For cooking
- Ginger,chopped – ½ tbsp
- Garlic,chopped – 1 tbsp
- Red chilli powder – 1 tsp
- Tomato sauce – 1/2 cup
- Soy sauce – 1 tbsp
- Red bell pepper (cut lengthwise)
- Cilantro chopped- few sprigs
- Chopped Green onions- 1 stalk
- Oil for shallow frying
Method
- Marinate the chicken pieces and keep in refrigerator for 30 min.
- Shallow fry this marinated chicken until golden brown.
- Keep the fried chicken pieces aside and Saute the finely chopped ginger and garlic until brown to the same oil.
- Add red chilli powder and saute nicely.
- Then add tomato sauce and mix well.
- Add soy sauce and chopped red bell pepper and let the gravy to boil.
- Finally add the fried chicken pieces and combine well.
- Cook for 5 minutes in medium flame until everything has blend together.
- Garnish with spring onions and chopped cilantro.
- Transfer to a serving bowl and serve with fried rice,pulav, noodles or roti.
Notes
This is a semi gravy recipe and add more tomato sauce for getting a good gravy curry.
Add chopped red bell pepper(lengthwise) for more taste and colour.Don't over cook this bell pepper
