Hope you all had a good onam and great sadhya..we had a sadhya with our friends and celebrate onam away from home.

Lets talk about today's dish ...

     
                                                            Beef Liver Fry


Liver is a good source of protein,minerals and vitamins.It is best for making soups for a healthy diet.Liver fry is very tasty and healthy for all aged people.


Ingredients

1.Beef Liver - 1/2 Kg
2.Onion - 1
3.Green Chillies - 3
4.Ginger - 1 medium piece
5.Garlic - 2-3 pods
6.Curry leaves - afew
7.Chilli powder - 1/2 Tsp
8.Turmeric powder - 1/4 Tsp
9.Pepper powder - 1 Tsp
10.Meat masala- 1/2 Tsp
11.Garam masala - 1/2 Tsp
12.Salt - to taste
13.Oil - 3 Tb sp
14.Water - 1/4 cup
15.Coconut kothu -  a few


Method

1.Clean and cut liver into small pieces.

2.Add little turmeric powder and few drops of lime juice/vinegar + salt and keep aside or in fridge for some time.

3.By this time prepare the masala,take a pan and switch on the flame.Add oil when it gets warm add chopped onion  and saute well.Cook until the onion becomes transluscent. Add chopped ginger and garlic along with a few curry leaves and chopped green chillies. Saute everything and fry.

4.Reduce the flame to low level and add all the masala powders in the     ingredient list.Mix all and saute it in order to make a dry masala.When the raw flavor of masala goes add  the marinated beef liver to the dry masala with little water(1/4 cup).Add required quantity of salt.Cook with a lid for 10-15 minutes.

5.Check if it  is cooked or not after 15 min.If not cook for 5 more minutes..

6.Don't cook too much or more than 30 minutes.
7.Fry it as a  dry masala gravy with no water without the lid.

Tips

1.Don't cook for a long time,it will result in a rubbery texture for liver.
2.Only add little water.
3.Add masalas according to your hot taste.
4.If you like,Add coconut kothu along with liver and fry it.


Beef Liver fry is ready to serve.Have it with rice or Kappa...
