Italian Pasta recipe in Indian style

                                                 Macaroni Pasta in Indian style

I love noodles,no matter whether its maggi or any other brand...For the same reason, here i tried different pasta varieties in our style with Indian masala.Normally pasta is available with cheese, mayonnaise and tomato sauce in restaurants which we Indians won't like much. Not for all of us,but a few people like my husband don't like much and eat a little bit for the name sake. But if i  prepared the pasta in Indian style he will finish it in minutes.

So today i'm teaching you how to prepare this pasta in Indian style with vegetables.Kids love this pasta if you try different shapes and you an easily give some vegetables to kids. You can serve  this pasta with Guacamole salad(Avacado, tomato, cilantro based salad)Tomato sauce/ketchup Etc. Some times i tried to make cutlets(veg/beef cutlets)as a combination for pasta dinner.

Pasta with Beef cutlet and Guacomole n Tomato Ketchup

Ingredients

  1. Pasta- 1.5 cups - any type available  in packets.
  2. Garam Masala- 1 Tsp
  3. Ginger - Garlic paste 1/2 tsp(optional)
  4. Chicken/meat/veg masala - 1/2 Tsp
  5. Turmeric powder - 1/4 Tsp
  6. Chilli powder- 1/2 Tsp(optional for hot spicy persons)
  7. Pepper powder -1/4 Tsp
  8. Tomato - 1(cut into cubes)
  9. Peas (Frozen or cooked separately)-1/4 cup
  10. Onion- 1/2 piece of a medium onion(cut into long pieces)
  11. Carrot - 1 (cut into length wise)optional
  12. Beans 4-5(cut into small long pieces)optional

Method

1.Make Pasta according to the instructions in the packet.Boil water in a heavy bottom vessel(2 .5 cups).Add salt to taste.Check the salt level and add accordingly. When the water boils add 1 cup pasta into the boiling water.

2.When the size of pasta gets doubled, check whether its done by tasting a little piece.Cook until firm to bite.

3.It is done within 8-10 minutes.Don't over cook pasta. It will turned into over sized pasta.

4.Drain out the water and keep pasta aside.

5.Take another pan,add oil, when it gets warm, add ginger- garlic paste, saute well and add cut onions.Cook it until the onion gets transluscent.

6.Add the diced tomato and make it as a dry gravy.

7.Reduce the heat and add all masala powders as your wish.Garam masala and pepper powder is a must added ingredient.Remaining all powders are optionals. But if you add all powders it gives a peculiar Indian flavor.Make it as a gravy by adding little water.Saute everything well and allow to boil.

8.Add the cooked vegetables(peas, carrot and beans should be cooked separately with little water)to the masala gravy and finally add the cooked pasta.Saute it well with gravy and cook it for 2-3 minutes in low flame.By this time, pasta will be coated nicely in masala gravy.

9.Serve hot with Ketchup or Guacomole salad. If you have some cutlets as a side dish, the combination should be perfect for a good dinner.

Guacomole Recipe
1.Mash 1  ripe(black one) avacado in a bowl after removing its skin.

2.Take some diced tomato(1/2 is enough),2-3 cilantro leaflets,2 Green Chillies,1/4 Tsp pepper powder,1/2 Tsp Lemon juice, salt to taste.Blend all ingredients together with mashed avacado.

3.Result will be a smooth green paste and it is called the great Mexican side dish called Guacamole.
This is well suited for pasta dishes.

Tips

1.Don't over cook pasta.
2.Add vegetables according to your wish.Combo 1-  peas n tomato
Combo 2 - carrots n beans...No need to add all veggies together.
3.Use masala as per your wish..Don't add too much.

I dont have the cooking steps pics, please forgive me,i can update it soon.

Enjoy this new dish as an evening snack for children coming from schools or husbands coming after work.
