Everyone is looking for an easy and healthy breakfast recipe.Am I right.Yes, I'm a person like that and i guess most of the mommies want to make healthy foods for their loved ones.So let's learn the preparation method for a healthy Moong Dal(Cheru payar in Malayalam)Dosa recipe.It's a popular recipe in Hydrabadi cuisine and we can make it like uthappam with lots of veggies and ghee and also can make egg dosa with this green batter.Also Moong dal is rich in protein needed for growing kids and adults brain health.
But the surprise and most exciting thing is there is no need of fermentation and just Soak the moong dal in water Over night.This is not popular in Kerala But you can try it once in a while when your family is  bored with same Dosa batter..It is popularly called as Pesarattu in Andhra Pradesh.Here is the recipe.




                                 Moong Dal Dosa (Pesarattu)

   Ingredients needed

   Moong Dal - 1 cup
   Rice flour - 1 Tsp
   Salt - as needed
 Optional Ingredients
   Ginger - 1 small piece(chopped roughly)
   Cilantro or mint leaves(2 or 3 sprigs) -
   Green chilli - 1 
   Onion -1 chopped coarsely 
   Ghee - for sprinkling


   
Preparation

Soak 1 cup Moong dal in water overnight.Next Morning Clean and wash moong dal in water 2-3 times and add all the optional ingredients except onion and ghee and grind it with 1/4 cup water and make a smooth batter.You can grind it all together.


Add enough salt and 1 Tsp rice flour.Stir it and prepare dosa.

Method

1.Heat a good pan and  prepare dosa same as like our white rice dosa.It needs some more time for cooking compared to rice dosa.

2.Now add ghee and chopped onion(optional).

3.When one side has done,flip it over and cook the other side.

4.Serve hot with any type of chutney.Here i served with Tomato onion chutney.


Note 

  • You can avoid green chillies,onion and leaves if you are preparing for your younger kids. 
  • Prepare in different shapes for your kids.
