Prawns#Chemeen#shrimp curry recipe in Kerala/Kottayam style




Prawns are my family's fav and its an all time hit in our house.I like to do experiments with prawns and here is one of my simple curry with prawns.This prawns curry goes well with any type of rice,bread varieties.

Ingredients needed
1.Prawns - 1/2 Kg
2.Onion - 1/2 medium sized (chopped)or use 5-6 shallots for more flavor
3.Tomato - 1 (paste)
4.Ginger - 1 small,chopped
5.Garlic - 1 small,chopped
6.Fish masala - 1 Tb sp
7.Salt - to taste

 Method

  • Clean large or small prawns and marinate it with fish masala and salt and keep for 10 min
  • In a pan,add oil and saute ginger n garlic and then saute the chopped onion and lastly tomato.
  • Add kudampuli along with that warm water.
  • When it boils,add those marinated prawns.
  • Cover and cook for 10 minutes.
  • Add coconut paste and cook for another 5 minutes.
  • Check the salt level and add if needed
  • Open the lid and cook for 2 minutes in low flame.
  • Serve with hot Matta(Kerala rice) and moru curry.

Notes

Its a very simple recipe and can be prepare within minutes if marinated prawns are ready and stored in refrigerator.
