Chilli Chicken Recipe

Chilli chicken is the most common Chineese dish in restaurants and main combo for Chineese fried rice.In restaurants its available in a small bowl with 4 or 5 chicken  pieces n some sauce gravy.But it can be  easily prepare at home without adding any taste makers like agino motto which is a main ingredient of all Chineese dishes in resraurants.

Ingredients needed to make Chilli Chicken for 5 adults 


  • Chicken              - 500 gm boneless pieces
  • Onion                 - 1 big or 2 small
  • Green Capsicum - 1 (If its big only half is needed)
  • Tomato               - 1
  • Soya Sauce         - 2 Tb sp
  • Spring Onion       - 1 twig
  • Chilli powder       - 1 Tb sp
  • Cornflour            - 3 Tb sp
  • Egg                     - 1
  • Pepper powder   -1/2 Tsp
  • Turmeric powder -1/4 Tsp
  • Salt                      - to taste
  • Oil                       - for frying 




Method of preparation of Chilli Chicken



Marinated Chicken Pieces

1.Clean chicken and take the boneless portion.Marinate chicken with a paste of 1 egg,3 Tb sp corn flour,1/2 Tsp pepper powder and 1/4 Tsp Turmeric powder and 1/4 tsp chilli powder.

2.Keep this in refrigerator for 10 minutes.By this time,cut onion and green pepper in cubical shape and keep aside.make a tomato puree with 1 tomato.

3.Deep fry marinated,corn flour coated  chicken pieces in oil and keep aside.

4.Saute 1 Tb sp ginger garlic paste in oil and then add  cut onion and saute it until it becomes semi translucent followed by green pepper.(No need to cook it fully,esply for Chinese dishes)

5.Add tomato puree to the gravy.Add 2 Tb sp of Soya sauce to the gravy and mix.

6.Finally add fried chicken pieces to the gravy made and do a final mix.Keep the flame as low and cook for
5 minutes.By that time.all those chicken pieces will be coated with the gravy.

7.Transfer to a serving bowl and garnish with chopped green onions.

8.Serve warm with fried rice or any bread varieties

 Notes

  • This is my way of cooking Chilli Chicken    Indo Chinese style.. Don't worry if its different from restaurant version You are eating a healthy home made food...FAR better than chemical and co loured restaurant food.
  • I simply added few cilantro leaves for garnish.Its not included in Chinese dish.



Tips
1.Turmeric powder and pepper powder is my addition.If you don't like skip it.But remember lit turmeric is good for all non vegges.
2.Also Chinese dishes won't cook fully.Its semi cooked.But Here onion and green pepper i cooked fully since my family liked that.
3.You can use the same pan for frying chicken and sauting veggies.No need of adding extra oil.
