                Chemmen podi or dry shrimp powder is very tasty and its a mouth watering dish for shrimp/prawns lovers.Myself and my husband loves shrimp and all varieties of prawn dishes.It can be used  with Kappa veyichathe or Kappa puzhukke and off course well suited with rice as well.If you get some dry prawns try out this recipe for a delicious meal.

Ingredients Needed:
1.Dry Chemmen(Dry Shrimp/ small Prawns) -1/2  cup
2.Coconut grated   - 1 cup
3.Dry Red Pepper/Chilli -2 nos
4.Chilli Powder-1/2 tsp(if you want more spicy add 1 tsp chilli powder)


Method


  • Heat a pan, add 1/2 cup dry shrimp,reduce the flame to low and  make it warm.Stir continuously for avoiding burns.
  • Switch off the flame after 5 minutes and allow to cool down.
  • When it gets cool transfer the dry shrimp to a mixxie and add all the ingredients coconut-1 cup,dry red pepper-2 and chilli powder-1/2 tsp.
  • Grind all the ingredients in a mixxie.
Note: Don't grind it too much since it forms a fine powder.So grind for a few seconds and you will get good quality chemmeen podi with coconut.


Serve with hot rice or kappa:):)
