Pork Pickle recipe Kerala style#Erachi achar recipe

 Pickled Pork recipe in Kerala style



Pork pickles are delicious and it can be stored for months.It can be made as dry or gravy as per your wish.Same like Beef here im telling the recipe of Pork pickle in Kerala style.

Ingredients
For cooking pork 1.Pork clean and cut – 1 kg 2.Turmeric powder – ½ Tsp 3.Chilli powder – 2 Tsp 4.Salt – 2 Tsp For making pickle 1.Ginger – 1 big piece cut into length wise 2.Garlic – 1 full pod cut into length wise 3.Curry leaves - 3 sprigs 4.Dried Red chilli – 3 5.Green chillies – 3(optional if you need spicy spickle) 6.Salt – 1 Tsp 7.Turmeric powder – ½ Tsp 8.Garam masala – 1 Tsp 9.Kashmiri Chilli powder – 3 Tsp 10.Asafoetida powder – ¾ Tsp 11.Fenugreek powder – ¾ Tsp 12.Pepper powder freshly crushed – ½ Tsp 13.Coconut oil – 1 cup 14.Vinegar boiled and cooled – 1 cup 15.Mustard – 1 Tsp Method 1.Cook pork in water(steaming for reducing the fat content) in a heavy bottom pan covered with lid for 40 minutes.Stir in between.Cook pork till we can cut into pieces,or else cook in pressure cooker for 3-4 whistles 2.Fry this cooked pork in coconut oil for a crispy outside and long shelf life. I fried it in 3 batches. 3.Meanwhile prepare all the ingredients and cut into small pieces(ginger and garlic) and make ready all masala powders. 4.Strain that already used oil into another pan and add mustard seeds to the hot oil.When it splatters add cut ginger and garlic and cook till it becomes soft.Add dried red chillies and fry followed by curry leaves. 5.Reduce the flame and add all masala powders and fry it in low flame. 6.When the masalas get fried add boiled and cooled vinegar to the mix and increase the falme to medium.When everything mix well and boils,add fried pork to the gravy. 7.Cook all together in medium flame until boils and forms bubbles.You can add 1 cup boiled water at this time if you need more gravy in pickle. 8.Switch off flame and keep aside for cooling.Keep it over night in same pan so that everything coats well. 9.Transfer to a clean glass bottle and remember to use dry clean spoon for serving. 10.Store it in refrigerator for 2 months and in freezer upto 6 months.
