Fish Molly Recipe
Fish molly is an authentic Kerala food having good traditional taste and i absolutely love this as a side dish for Palappam or Idiappam.With the gravy itself we have our food and no need of explanations for fish lovers.You can try strong flesh fish like King fish(Neey Meen),Pomfret(Avoli)or Pearl spot(Kareemeen).

Ingredients needed
- 1/2 kg ( preferably pomfret or pearl spot or king fish,here i used kareemeen )
- Onion – 2 medium
- Ginger & Garlic – 1 tablespoon each ( crushed )
- Green chilli – 3 – 4
- Cardamom – 4
- Cloves – 4
- Cinnamon – 1 medium stick
- Tomato – 2-3
- Thin(3rd) Coconut milk – 1 cup
- Medium(2nd) Coconut milk – 1 cup
- Thick(1st) Coconut milk – ½ cup
- Salt, oil & curry leaves – as your wish
- Pepper powder – 1 teaspoon
- Turmeric powder – ½ teaspoon
- Lemon juice – ½ teaspoon
Method
- Marinate the fish pieces with pepper powder, turmeric powder, salt & lemon juice. Keep it for half an hour. Shallow fry the marinated fish for just 2-3 minutes.
- Heat oil in a pan. Splutter cardamom,cinnamon & cloves. Add crushed ginger garlic & green chillies. Add onions and when it becomes soft add thin coconut milk. Let it boil. Add the fried fish pieces and salt to taste.
- When the gravy becomes little thick add medium coconut milk.After that add tomatoes & curry leaves when the gravy becomes thick. Once the tomatoes is cooked add thick coconut milk and heat it for 5 minutes.
- Serve hot with palappam or idiappam
Tips
1.If you don't want this yellow colour no need of adding turmeric.
2.If you require a thicker gravy please add 2 teaspoons of cornflour to the gravy.
